This past summer I took a pastel workshop with Tricia Reichert who teaches locally at Cal Poly. She's a very good teacher. She teaches drawing, watercolor, printmaking, and probably more...in addition to soft pastel. On the last day of class she told us of a new pastel society that was just starting up so I attended their meeting that very day and joined. It's a great group! Today some of us got together to paint birds. We are getting ready for the California Bird Festival in Morro Bay morrobaybirdfestival.org/ this coming January. I always wanted to paint a raven. It turns out they do not migrate. Google tells me that sometimes they wander south in fall and winter! Here's a link to the California Central Coast Pastel Society-3cps.org/

Painting is my life's passion. To be completely honest with you, I do not have a lot of skill, in fact, painting is the only one that I am confident in. If you ask me, it is important to have a lot of skills, but being able to be amazing in one aspect is also good. There are people who have exceptional talent in one field and that is enough. We need to learn new skills, but we also need perfect the ones that we have.

I definitely believe with the title of this blog. Indeed, art tells a story. I remember when I gave my special person a painting. At first, she was not able to understand the reason why I gave her that, but later on, as explained her on why gave her that, she came running to me and gave me a warm, tight hug. Another is that, artists spend a lot of their time finishing a masterpiece. They put a lot of effort in their artwork. Most of the time, their paintings show what they really feel. It shows their emotions while they are doing that painting.

At first, I thought this would be a child's work based on the draft the you made. I was really amazed upon seeing the transition of your work. It is like, it transformed from its draft up to its final look. I hope I could also be this creative just like you. I remember my cousin, she is really great when it comes to this matter. She has a compilation of all of her works. I always encourage her to pursue her talent more. It will bring to a lot of different places.
